Ottawa on Monday wasn’t enough, we had to get more of Nelly ‘s Where’s the Party at? Tour in Montreal last night!
The Bell Center was packed to the brim, with people up and dancing up while waiting for the festivities to begin. After a set by Chingy, Ja Rule hit up the stage, with a fun intro that left us saying “well, I didn’t think I’d ever see Ja Rule in his underwear getting out of bed, but here we are.”. Jokes aside, he delivered a solid set that packed a punch, full of throwback hits that had all the ladies singing along!
Shortly before 10pm (and with a 20-min delay on the initial schedule, is it really a hip-hop show if things aren’t late?), Nelly hit the stage, after a strange intro that mixed dancers, and fans who paid VIP packages to sit on the edges of the stage, all acting as if they’re trying to get into the club. Anyways, once Nelly hit the stage, things got kicked into high gear with Where the Party at?. With a bunch of special guests, Cornell Haynes Jr put on one hell of a show, with so many hits (Just a Dream, Air Force Ones, Tipsy), and of course a fiery finish to his mega-hit Hot in Herre. The Bell Center got turned into one big dance floor, and we can now answer the Where the Party At? question. Last night, it was in Montreal.
Nelly, Ja Rule and the Where the Party At? Tour will be heading to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver before heading to the US. For tickets and more info, visit Nelly’s website.
