Care to introduce yourself?

Hey there! I’m Bryan Bravo, an artist with a cool mix of Ecuadorian and Canadian roots. It’s been an amazing journey blending my Latin heritage with my music.

Tell us about the process of writing and recording “Cha Cha.”

We actually came up with the idea for the song around a pool scene, so it’s all about embracing the fun and excitement of a summer night with your friends. That concept only evolved through the writing and recording process. From the tabla player (Tamim Afzali) to the high-energy ad libs in the background (Aaron Malcom), these were elements that brought the song to life. With the help of the producer D-Menace Music and the lyrics and vocals from Mariah McKnight, Cha Cha was born.

What’s it like being a musician in Toronto?

A lot of my inspiration comes from meeting the diverse crowd we have in Toronto. I always feel like I’m meeting someone new every day. From exploring the hidden ravines for walks to meeting new people in the city, I always find plenty of inspiration around me.

Who was the first and most recent Canadian artist to blow you away?

Actually, Justin Bieber has come a long way with his journey, and seeing his growth is actually really impressive. Really awesome performances too.

You’ve been making music for a while now, what’s one piece of advice you can offer to those starting out?

Keep on going, and keep learning. There is always so much to learn, and the more you gain, give back.
