Shawnee Kish keeps summer temps hot with the release of her new single “No Evil”
JUNO-nominated vocalist Shawnee Kish is wasting no time diving into her epic next chapter with the release of “No Evil,” the second single from her upcoming sophomore EP Revolution. Due later this year, Revolution will be driven by Shawnee’s powerhouse vocals and a transcendent message about self-empowerment. Available everywhere today, “No Evil” clearly delivers on Shawnee’s new direction and is undoubtedly bound to heat up summer playlists.
Co-written by 7x JUNO Award winner Serena Ryder and produced by Serena Ryder and Jerrod Bettis (Hilary Duff, Adele), “No Evil” is an honest reflection on the current state of the world. Highlighting the importance of humanity before all else, the new track delivers an unignorable message — Everybody knows we can’t keep going this way, all the fighting and the lying and the power and pain.
“‘No Evil’ is a response to the seemingly never-ending tragic news we’re bombarded with every day and not knowing exactly how to feel, react or process it all,” explained Shawnee. “While the first single off my upcoming EP was upbeat and light-hearted, I wanted fans to know that I will always use my platform to bring light to important conversations. I hope this release reminds everyone that we have a responsibility to each other to lead with kindness and care.”
Today’s news comes hot off the heels of this summer’s earlier release of “STELLA!” — Shawnee’s first foray into her very compelling next chapter. Added at CBC and SiriusXM immediately upon release, “STELLA!” is a no-holds-barred anthem for everyone who has spent the last two years reinventing or returning to themselves.
Recently finishing up a run of performance dates across Canada including the inaugural Lavender Wild Festival, River Remix Festival, and Calgary Folk Festival, Shawnee will spend the remainder of the summer preparing Revolution for its release to the world this fall, heading back out on tour early next year.
