Country artist Jamie Stever spends his time between his hometown of Prince Edward County, Ontario, and his second home, Nashville, Tennessee.
Jamie has earned his way through Music City, landing a writing position on Music Row, and has also released two U.S. Radio singles which led to live performances on WSM 650 Radio (The Official Radio Station for The Grand Ole Opry). One of Jamie’s long-term goals is to show the world what kind of talented Canadian artists have to offer in today’s Country Music Market.
I am a Canadian country recording artist from Prince Edward County, Ontario. I have devoted my life to the art of songwriting and studied Classical Music Performance at Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario. I have recently released my third studio album, Spotlight, which highlights many aspects of my songwriting styles and is available on all streaming platforms.
My newest single, “Love Found Us,” came to life through the main guitar part and an anthem-like chorus melody. I wanted this song to be really fun and easy to sing for any listener. I have a ton of compositions that are a lot more “In Depth” lyrically, but in the case of this one, I just wanted it to be super conversational and let the musical elements take over.
I pay Attention! Every day as songwriters, we see, overhear, or feel musical inspiration. These ideas can be just one line or even just one word that could be turned into a song. I often get asked, “Which do you start with, the music or the lyrics?” For me, it is both. I keep what I call “A Hook Book” of catchy titles or musical parts that I can look to every time I write.
I am currently putting together a cross-Canada acoustic tour which will include multiple venue styles from theatres to intimate brewery sessions, and hope to have local opening artists from the cities I visit.
Aside from the upcoming acoustic tour, my focus will be on creating new music and releasing a lot more video content than I ever have.
