Artist: Aaron Wylder
EP: Adventure Songs
Release Date: January 11, 2023
Genre: Folk/ Americana

Victoria, BC-based singer-songwriter Aaron Wylder has unveiled his three-song EP, Adventure Songs, which follows his indie folk ballad, “I Could Be Your One.”

Coming in at under ten minutes, Adventure Songs gives you a brief glimpse into Aaron’s talents and leaves you ready for more.

“Don’t Let Me Down” is a great upbeat track to start the journey into Adventure Songs. This is one of those songs that you’ll be tapping your feet along with and, before long, singing along to the lyrics, “Oh baby don’t let me down now, Oh baby don’t let me down now, Don’t let me down.” The vibe throughout is a mixture of country and rock, and Aaron blends them seamlessly, creating one hell of a track.

“Songs I Sing” slows it down and gives off more of a folk vibe. On this track, the star is Aaron’s vocals, which are joined by a simple, sweet beat. Although it’s the shortest song on the release, it does an amazing job of showcasing Aaron’s songwriting abilities.

The release closes with “Summer’s Here,” which returns to the country side of things. The mellow beat intertwines perfectly with Aaron’s vocals. Throughout the track, Aaron tells a story, which through these three songs and his previous releases, we know he excels at.

If you’re asking me to choose a favourite, I cannot. Just listen to the whole release. You won’t regret it.
