Montreal’s Pouzza Fest takes place from May 17-19 featuring some of the greatest punk music that’s out there! We’re happy that we’ve had the chance to count down to this festival with you. We started our countdown with Montreal’s own The Planet Smashers, Answers, HVAL, Subb, and then Gutter Demons. Now, we’re chatting with Seth Anderson, who play on May 18 at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. See the full schedule here.
First off, care to introduce yourself to the Canadian Beats readers?
I am a Canadian Singer/songwriter in One Week Records, living in the Canmore, AB.
Pouzza Fest is an early festival, taking place in May, how do you prepare for festival season?
I love festivals anytime and anyplace. It means I get to hang out with a lot of friends that I don’t get to see very often.
Have you taken part in Pouzza Fest before? If so, what is your favourite memory?
This will be my fourth Pouzza. My favourite memories all involve, Chuck Coles, The Penske File, and late night singalongs at their party layer.
The line-up at Pouzza Fest this year is stellar, who are you most excited to check out?
I’m really stoked for Chuck Coles new project, United Snakes. Also, SPELLS and I are doing some pre-fest shows, and they are one of the most rad live bands going. I’m excited to see them play at Pouzza.
Pouzza Fest’s name comes from the mashup of poutine and pizza, so I feel the need to know, which do you prefer?
Ah man, that’s tough. Gotta say pizza.
Are you performing at any other festivals this summer that you’d like to tell us about?
I am performing at Dooryard Fest in my home county in Woodstock, NB,and it will be a re-union for myself and a bunch of friends that all started out touring together under a DIY label called Out-Back Records. If you are close to East Coast, July 19, come check it out!
I’ll also be at Mile Of Music Fest in Appleton, WI which is gonna be a blast.
What five words would you use to describe your live show?
Me. You. Laughing. Crying. Hugs.
If you were asked to give advice to an up and coming artist, what would that advice be?
Do things that make you happy, and remember the reasons of why you love it.
What’s up next for you?
I’ll be doing a six week NA tour around Pouzza. I also have a new album that is awaiting release currently.
