MANDY MCMILLAN’S SASSY SELF-LOVE ANTHEM “LTMFG” IS AN ODE TO LETTING GO AND RECLAIMING YOUR LIFE

Canadian country-pop artist Mandy McMillan is celebrating her newest single “LTMFG”, which is currently on all streaming platforms.

A cheeky acronym for “Let the Motherf***er Go”, the new single is an unabashed self-love anthem for those ready to break free from toxic relationships, rebuild self-confidence, and embrace life.

Written and produced by Mandy, “LTMFG” blends straight-shooting country storytelling, rock energy, and pop flourishes to craft an upbeat recipe of empowerment and adventure.

Mandy says, “This song came after realizing that I was blocking my own peace by holding onto pain, expectations, and people too tightly. It started as a funny post-breakup concept, but it carries a deeper message about surrender, self-worth, and liberation. It’s a reminder to love yourself and embrace the power, humour, and confidence in reclaiming yourself.”

“LTMFG” is the latest milestone for Mandy on a free-spirited adventure that has taken her from Canada to Nashville and back.

Born in Edmonton, Mandy developed her artistry in nearby Stony Plain – eventually winning a CMT Canada contest and opening for Trisha Yearwood at the Big Valley Jamboree festival in 2008. Her next stop was Nashville, where her Music City adventures included everything from opening for Blake Shelton, releasing her 2014 self-titled EP, making the Top 10 of ole’s “Play for Publisher”, and doing the robot dance with Kelly Clarkson while filming the Clarkson’s “Tie It Up” music video, in which she also appeared.

Since returning to Edmonton, Mandy has taken the lead in every influential aspect of her career, including releasing her 2022 album “Dream Catcher” and her 2025 single “Crazy Crazy”, building a regular stage presence around Alberta at the Pigeon Lake Music Festival, “Play On!” Edmonton (through Hockey Night in Canada), and Wild Roses Festival, and honing her musical production chops online through Berklee College of Music. More recently, Mandy is also working on her first book, “Every Single Girl’s Guide to Self-Love”, which was inspired by her new single.

As she marks a new creative chapter, “LTMFG” brings together Mandy’s collection of experiences in one bold musical mantra about choosing self-love and letting go.

She says,

“It’s so easy to hold onto things because we’re scared of the unknown, but sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply let go of what’s no longer aligned. To me, the lasting message of this song is about the permission to choose yourself without guilt and let heartbreak turn into empowerment and growth.”

Review

On “LTMFG,” Mandy McMillan turns heartbreak into a confident, feel-good anthem about reclaiming your peace. Blending country storytelling with pop hooks and a touch of rock attitude, the track embraces the freedom that comes with finally letting go rather than dwelling on what went wrong.

Lyrically, McMillan balances humour with empowerment, filling the song with memorable moments that celebrate choosing yourself. From taking yourself out on the date someone else never planned to embracing spontaneity and self-love, the message stays clear: stop holding onto what no longer serves you.

With upbeat energy and a chorus built for singing along, “LTMFG” lands as more than a breakup song. It’s an unapologetic reminder that sometimes the healthiest and most empowering thing you can do is let the motherf***er go.
