Jessica Russell – Five Questions With

Nova Scotia’s Jessica Russell Shares “Pause On Over”

Jessica Russell is a country singer-songwriter from Nova Scotia, Canada.  Singing since she could talk; Jessica has been making the rounds in her music career, opening for names like Aaron Goodvin, The Washboard Union, and Emerson Drive at their Nova Scotia concerts.

Jessica recently unveiled her single, “Pause On Over” which follows her debut single “Here We Go.”

This coming year, Jessica is planning to get back in the studio to record her debut album – stay tuned!

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey guys! My name is Jessica Russell, I’m 25 years old and I’m from Chester, Nova Scotia!

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

My new song Pause On Over is all about the “what ifs” after a break up. What if we just tried again? What if we just put a “pause on over”? Let’s be real, it’s probably not a good idea, but it sounds like fun at the time!

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I recently moved to Calgary, so currently looking to book at some local venues out here! Check out www.jessicarussellmusic.com/calendar for an updated list.

If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?

Ooh tough decision! I feel like there are so many, but I’d have to say I am a big fan of Meghan Patrick! I saw her at the Spring Breakup Festival a few years back, and wow! What a performer! I’d love to work with her and learn a thing or two!

What’s your goal for 2024?

My goal for 2024 is to get out there and play more shows. I’m hoping to expand to new venues, maybe a festival or two! I’ve been writing some new tunes, so getting back in the studio to track a few is definitely in the plans as well!
