Sykamore To Release New EP, Through The Static

Country-Pop Singer-Songwriter Sykamore To Release New EP Through the Static on March 29th

Canadian country-pop singer-songwriter Sykamore, is excited to announce the release of her anticipated new EP Through the Static, set to arrive on March 29th via CMDSHFT on all streaming platforms.

Produced by Bobby Campbell (Nashville TV Series), Through the Static is an elegant addition to Sykamore’s evergreen observations of life and relationships through her signature lens. The collection of four tracks reveals a vulnerable and intimate side of Sykamore, exploring themes of past love, nostalgia, infatuation, and youth.

“It feels great to be releasing new music again and I can’t wait to show what I’ve been working on the past 18 months,” said Sykamore. “These four tracks illustrate the emotional journey of opening your heart and the many ups and downs that can entail – two songs explore the beginning of love, and two songs recount the experience of love coming to an end. I hope “Through the Static” reaches people, regardless of where they are in their love story.”

The opening track of the EP and current single, “Emotional, is an airy upbeat confessional about the vulnerable side of falling in love. With a dash of nostalgia in the chorus — evoking the likes of Fleetwood Mac or Kacey Musgraves, and layered with country influences, the song showcases itself as a worthwhile stop on Sykamore’s journey to unpack the human condition.

Country storytelling with hints of pop and sensible vintage lowlights are continued throughout the EP in tracks such as “More Where That Came From,” which focuses on the exciting prospect of new love with a beat suitable for a top-down Sunday drive. Also included on the EP is “Perfect Storm,” which boldly compares a bygone relationship to an East Coast hurricane, and the more country-forward “Highway Towns,” a stark reminder that some things aren’t built to last, but that doesn’t make their memory any less special.
