New track sets the stage for the Acadian sweetheart’s debut English EP, Boiling Over, due out April 5
Singer, songwriter, and self-proclaimed “Acadian sweetheart” JULIE AUBÉ celebrates the release of her latest single, “I Won’t Let Your Love.“ Stream the track below.
Jam-packed full of charm, Julie Aubé has a way with words: clever, simple, and easily relatable. On her new single, she takes inspiration from the not-so-distant past. In style and sound, “I Won’t Let Your Love” harkens back to Linda Ronstadt rocking a pair of bell bottoms and Frye boots or the likes of Sheryl Crow and Lucinda Williams, brimming with sincerity and personality. The song might even rekindle your love for country music…the kind your dad might’ve listened to.
The prolific New Brunswick artist is mostly known as part of the acclaimed trio Les Hay Babies, widely known across French Canada. Outside of the band, she has garnered many accolades for her solo ventures. Notably, Julie Aubé’s most recent full-length album, Contentement, earned her the Francophone Recording of the Year at the 2023 Music New Brunswick Awards.
“I Won’t Let Your Love” sets the stage for Boiling Over, Aubé’s first fully English album. Slated for release on April 05, 2024, via Simone Records, the five-song EP expertly balances the artist’s love for country, folk, and all things vintage with her unique perspective as a New Brunswick-based songwriter. After all, it is the only bilingual province in the country – might as well make the most of it! Whether in English or in French, her voice is unmistakable for its warmth and power.
