Montreal-based singer-songwriter Loryn Taggart is proud to officially release her debut album The Lost Art of Pulling Through.

Following the unfathomable grief of losing her father, Loryn Taggart began creating The Lost Art of Pulling Through as a concept album, bringing the listener on a journey through loss and how creation can bring you back to life and out of the depths of anger, self-doubt and writers’ block. This album reflects what comes after the pain, that there is another side to grief – through your healing journey you will discover happiness again. Through storytelling and musical exploration, Loryn intertwines jazz ballads with moving instrumental composition, a touch of blues and pop elements, with contemporary folk.

The ten-song release begins with a heartfelt track, “Boston In The Fall.” Its poetic and thought-provoking lyrics invite reflection on the profound impact of a place on the singer’s life. Reluctance to part with cherished memories is beautifully conveyed, and the repetition of “what’s this girl to do” adds depth to the singer’s dilemma and uncertainty. This track sets an emotional tone for the album’s journey.

“Heat” has the power to resonate deeply with listeners, telling a story of overcoming adversity, finding strength in the face of heartbreak, and embarking on a journey of self-discovery. The bridge serves as a poignant moment in the song, emphasizing the emotional impact of the words and the desire for healing. The plea “lord just let me love again” conveys a heartfelt yearning for renewal and emotional connection.

“Edy Dal Apanak” creates a poignant pause within the album’s story, a space for contemplation and profound emotion, all without uttering a single word. It beckons the listener to dive into their own inner world of thoughts and memories. As an instrumental gem, it stands as a testament to the album’s versatility, forging a profound emotional bond with its audience, wordlessly.

Concluding the album, “Ohio” delivers a motivating and introspective message, urging listeners to chase their passions, conquer hurdles, and discover strength in human bonds. The chorus serves as the emotional core of the song, emphasizing the value of time, human connections, and resilience. The lines “aren’t we all just people” and “time is all that we need” convey a sense of common humanity and the significance of shared experiences. The song’s focus on embracing one’s art, valuing connections, and finding strength in adversity is both relatable and inspiring.

Overall, the collection of tracks on The Lost Art of Pulling Through embarks on a profound journey through the rich landscape of the human experience. The melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and empowering messages woven throughout the album make it a captivating and deeply moving musical experience.
