Alberta’s Kim Thompson Shares Her Latest Single, “Bucket List”

Alberta-based singer-songwriter Kim Thompson unveiled her latest single, “Bucket List” earlier this year.

Kim shares,

“The song “Bucket List”, is a goal setter, to encourage people to follow their dreams and achieve goals is a co-write with myself and Joel McGregor Rathjen. This is my eighth single released to radio. It’s a country rock anthem, sashaying like a request from the saloon jukebox. Influenced by the rustic sounds of Waylon, rocked by Aerosmith, the beats, guitar leads, and feels of Kidd Rock as well as sweet straight-up sensations of Sugarland. “Bucket List”, is up-tempo and authentic, complete with swinging vocals wrapped like a lasso around the melody. Defined creative lyrics lead the listener into a productive story to overcome, achieve goals set, live your aspirations, share the wealth of accomplishment to grow, and dream even bigger. As the artist, writing the song, I wanted to encourage listeners to get out there and live life in the fullest, choose to make a difference, participate, not just writing the list but make an effort to check the list off in completion. This song is a roll down the window and let your hair blow in the wind song, feeling freedom on the way to check off my “Bucket List.” I ask others to join me in the ride, “Bucket List”, had over 1000 plays in the first 4 days on Spotify, produced by Danny Hammonds in Georgia USA.”

Review

“Bucket List” begins with a rockin’ country beat, joined by Kim’s powerful, distinctive vocals.

Throughout the song, Kim puts forth various items that are on her bucket list, such as spending time with friends, travelling, and making the most of day-to-day life.

The catchy chorus delivers a strong message of confidence, progress, and inner strength. Its concise yet impactful lines, particularly the repetition of “been there done that, no regrets,” emphasize the importance of fully embracing life’s journey. The imagery of crossing items off a list and throwing wishes into a bucket adds a touch of whimsy and aspiration to the chorus.

Overall, “Bucket List” serves as a reminder to cherish the present and pursue our dreams with unwavering determination.
