On October 4, 2019, Vancouver-based pop artist Rayne released her debut single, “Do With That”. This is the first single off of her forthcoming, self-titled EP.
Lyrically, “Do With That,” has a subtle lament for a broken relationship coupled with a sweeping synth and a chiming chorus.
“I wrote ‘Do with That’ with Andrew Allen and Ryan Stewart,” Rayne offers. “It is a bop!”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Sure! My name is Rayne and I’m a seventeen-year-old pop musician from Vancouver.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I like to think of my music is a representation of who I am. When people meet me after having listened to my music, it makes sense. When I go into a writing session I’m always trying to write something that people can move to, as that’s the music that I like. If a song doesn’t sound like something that I would actually listen to, I scrap it.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
My show is pretty high energy, and fun. I don’t have any set show dates coming up, but I will be on a radio tour this month. I’m going to be visiting lots of stations in BC, Alberta, and Ontario.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I would probably suggest ‘Do With That’ as it’s the only song I’ve released so far, but I have several others I’m incredibly excited to share. My favourite is a song I wrote called ‘Bored’ and I can’t wait to release it.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
Recently I’ve been listening to ‘Love Me’ by Felix Cartel and Lights on repeat. It’s such a good song! The first time I heard it I immediately fell in love with the beat and vibe.
