Voting has opened for the three finalists of the artist development competition Project Wild. The Alberta-based program is in its fourth year and follows an intensive week-long Bootcamp, a number of showcase performances, and charity challenges. WILD953 radio and Alberta Music will be putting together this year’s events. A combination of public voting, live performance judging, and Project Wild judging committee will determine the final three acts.
The Top 12 artists were announced on May 26 and will continue to vie for the final three spots; Aaron Pollock, Ben Chase, Blake Reid Band, Devin Cooper, Julia Vos, Lauren Mayell, Lyndsay Butler, Mariel Buckley, Mariya Stokes, Mark Times, Michela Sheedy, and Ryan Lindsay.
Voting will close on November 1 and the final three will be announced on November 8. The last event will take place at Knoxville’s Tavern in Calgary on November 30; the finalists will be presented and prizes will be handed out. The winner will take home $100,000 while the runner up will receive $75,000, and the third-place artist will collect $50,000.

Rebecca here- a Niagara native now living and breathing music in Toronto. As a Ryerson journalism graduate and a self-proclaimed music junkie, I’ve been fortunate enough to write for brands like Andpop and Really Records, and now Canadian Beats. My tastes in music are all over the map- Stevie Wonder to Fall Out Boy; Miranda Lambert to One Direction – which is why I spend almost as much money on concerts as I do on rent. But I have no regrets. If you like my ramblings you can also find me on Twitter (RMattina5) & Instagram (rmattina93).
