SATYA Releases New Single “In/Out” Produced by Domeno, Exploring the Modern Dating Disconnect
Canadian pop and R&B artist Satya returns with her powerful new single, “In/Out,” produced by Domeno and co-written with acclaimed songwriter Kayla Diamond. Blending infectious pop production with emotionally honest lyrics, the track explores one of the defining relationship struggles facing young people today: the fear of vulnerability and commitment in the age of social media.
With emotionally vulnerable songwriting, contemporary pop production, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity, SATYA continues to establish herself as one of Canada’s most compelling emerging pop voices. “In/Out” is another bold step forward, an anthem for anyone who has ever been left wondering where they truly stand.
Built around the question, “Are you in or are you out?”, the song gives voice to the frustration of navigating relationships where mixed signals, emotional walls, and uncertainty have become the norm.
“The single talks about what’s going on with the younger generation nowadays,” says SATYA. “It’s hard for them to make real connections because of social media and how people are scared to show their real side and emotions. They’re scared of being vulnerable or of being rejected. I was talking to a younger friend of mine who told me how difficult it is to find someone who truly wants to be vulnerable and be in a relationship without fear. ‘In/Out’ is a reflection of that, simply asking, ‘I really gotta know… are you in or are you out?'”
“In/Out” arrives during a remarkable period of momentum for SATYA. She was recently featured by Spotify’s editorial team on Fresh Finds Canada and was named one of Exclaim!’s “5 Emerging Canadian Artists You Need to Hear.”
Review
“In/Out” is all about being fed up with someone who can’t seem to make up their mind. There’s still love and care there, but the constant back-and-forth has reached a point where something has to give.
The chorus really gets to the heart of the song with the question, “are you in or you out?” It’s a feeling a lot of people will recognize — wanting to let someone in while also knowing you could end up getting hurt if they aren’t willing to fully commit.
By the second verse, there’s a noticeable shift in attitude. The patience is running out, the drama isn’t worth it anymore, and she knows she’ll be okay either way. “In/Out” takes a messy, complicated relationship and turns it into a relatable song about finally needing an answer.
