Mika
May 4, 2026
Place Bell, Montreal, QC
On May 4, Mika turned Place Bell into a euphoric, joy-filled dance party that felt less like a concert and more like a celebration of life itself. For two nonstop hours, Mika delivered one of the most energetic, generous, and uplifting performances imaginable — the kind of show that leaves an arena buzzing long after the lights come up.
Opening the night was DJ Fafa Khan, who did a formidable job warming up the crowd. By the time Mika hit the stage, the energy inside Place Bell was already building toward something special.
Mika emerged onto a stage dominated by massive rotating gears, visually echoing the imagery from the video for Modern Times, which opened the show in explosive fashion. It was an instantly striking visual statement and the perfect kickoff to a night packed with spectacle and emotion.
He followed with Elven— pausing to tell the crowd how meaningful it was to perform the song in the very city where it was written. Moments like that defined the evening. Mika’s affection for Montreal was obvious from the start, and throughout the night he spoke frequently in French, making the audience feel deeply appreciated and connected to him.
Things kicked into another gear with Relax, Take It Easy, which immediately transformed the arena into a giant singalong. From there, the momentum never slowed.
The production itself was spectacular. Between the elaborate set design, dazzling lights, confetti, endless positivity, and Mika’s boundless energy, every moment felt alive. He used every inch of the stage — jumping on top of pianos, climbing risers, sprinting from one end to the other — never standing still for more than a second. His energy was contagious, and the crowd responded in kind, dancing and singing along to every song. In a world that often feels heavy, this was the kind of concert that genuinely felt good for the soul.
The undeniable highlight of the night — and perhaps one of the live music moments of the year — came during Big Girl (You Are Beautiful). Mika transformed Place Bell into what felt like the “Butterfly Lounge,” leaving the stage entirely and weaving through the audience while singing. For nearly eight glorious minutes, he turned the entire arena into part of the performance, high-fiving fans, hugging people, dancing through the aisles, and belting out the anthem with infectious joy. It was pure showmanship at its finest and one of the most generous crowd interactions you could ever witness from an artist. Experiencing him pass directly through the crowd made the moment feel electric and unforgettable — a genuine peak-performance concert memory.
Every song became a singalong. Across an 18-song setlist, crowd favorites like Lollipop and C’est la Vie stood out as massive dance-party moments.
When it came time for Grace Kelly, Mika unveiled an enormous megaphone emblazoned with “Hyperlove,” a nod to his newest era. The song hit as hard as ever, sending the arena into another frenzy.
The night closed with a powerful final run of Happy Ending, Elle me dit, and Love Today, with Mika proudly sporting a Montreal Canadiens jersey as the crowd sang every word back to him.
It was an epic night from beginning to end — dazzling, heartfelt, wildly entertaining, and overflowing with joy. Mika didn’t just perform at Place Bell; he created a shared experience of happiness and connection that everyone in attendance will remember for a long time.
