The Northern Pikes and the Grapes of Wrath brought Canadian music history to life Friday, September 26, at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau!
Welcomed as part of the Retro Concert Series to celebrate the Retro – Popular Music in Canada exhibition and currently featured at the museum. Retro – Popular Music in Canada celebrates the history and cultural impact of the Canadian music scene from the 1960’s to the 1980’s. Both the Grapes of Wrath and Northern Pikes are contributors to the exhibit..
Starting the evening off were the Grapes of Wrath’s Kevin Kane and Tom Hopper. The audience was delighted at the intimate, acoustic set that had the duo performing exquisite renditions of classic hits, such as “Misunderstanding”, “You May Be Right”, “Backward Town”, and “I Live For You.”

The Northern Pikes, in contrast, had the crowd on their feet with their high energy rock hits that had the audience on their feet. Kicking things off with “King In His Castle,” and making sure to include fan favourites “Teenland” and “She Ain’t Pretty.”
Closing out the set, the Northern Pikes welcomed back Grapes of Wrath for an encore featuring their hit “Peace of Mind,” and a whirlwind medley of Pink Floyd covers.
