Toronto’s Missing Pet finds new beginnings with otherworldly EP, Moon Rules, out now
Toronto’s Adam Platek writes music for the heartbroken, the hopeful, and the nocturnal. His solo project, MISSING PET, fuses indie rock with synthpop and electronic textures, crafting a sound that is both deeply personal and mysteriously otherworldly.
In January 2025, Adam’s life changed forever after a near-death cycling accident left him barely breathing beneath a wide, silent sky. That night, under the glow of a full moon, something saved him. Adam is convinced that a cosmic divinity called him back from the edge— and gave him a second chance.
Feeling reborn and illuminated, Adam began to notice life moving in cycles, just like the phases of the moon. Sometimes you’re whole. Sometimes you’re gone. Sometimes you’re a sliver of who you were. But you’re always becoming something new.
Recorded in two days by the incomparable Josh Korody (Traitrs/Fucked Up) at Wychwood Sound in Toronto, MISSING PET’s five-song EP, Moon Rules, is a testament to resilience, reflection, and the quiet magic of letting yourself begin again. Moon Rules invites you to sit with the darkness, sing through the phases, and believe in the beauty of return.

“Raw, unflinching, and dripping with poetic bite, this album rips open the heart, dances in the wreckage, and dares you to look in broad daylight.”
