NHL Festival at the Finals Game 2
June 6, 2025
Headlining the festivities at Game 2 of the NHL Festival at the Finals were Kingston rock band The Glorious Sons. A band that seems to keep gaining momentum as the years roll by, they were a fantastic addition to the Stanley Cup finals
Kicking off their set with the powerhouse single “Sawed Off Shotgun”, the crowd was immediately all-in. Fired up after the Triumph reunion that happened moments before, the crowd was bouncing, fist pumping, and singing along from the opening lines of the song.
The Glorious Sons danced, rocked, and swayed their way through a dozen songs on a beautiful June day, which at some points threatened rain, but thankfully the skies didn’t open up.
Singer Brett Emmons at one point thought they were out of time, but realizing they had more time, guided the band through another 4 songs before calling it a day, and joining the crowd to watch the game. Highlights included “Sawed-off Shotgun”, “Mercy, Mercy”, and closer “Everything is Alright”. IT was a fantastic set from a band that isn’t nearly done carving their path into the history of legendary Canadian rock bands.
