JUNO Awards announce 2025 Juno Awards Nominees

Leading the way with five nominations a piece are Calgary’s own pop superstar, Tate McCrae, and Waterdown, ON’s country chart-topper, Josh Ross; with the two stars competing for Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award.  Shawn Mendez and The Weeknd aren’t far behind the two front runners with four nominations.

The unveiling of the nominees adds to the previously announced Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, punk rockers, Sum 41, the International Achievement Award recipient, 19X Grammy Award-nominated producer/songwriter, Boi-1da, and the prestigious 2025 Humanitarian Award honouree, Sarah Harmer. Concert promoter Live Nation Canada Chairman, Riley O’Connor, will be honoured with the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award which recognizes individuals who have contributed to the growth and development of the Canadian music industry at home and around the world.

In addition, MusiCounts announced the 2025 nominees for Teacher of the Year. Since 2005, MusiCounts has celebrated the accomplishments of educators who strive to preserve the livelihood of music education in their schools and communities. This year’s nominees are Drew Van Allen of Nakoda Elementary School (Mînî Thnî, AB), Emily Dominey of Dundas Valley Secondary School (Hamilton, ON), Greg Chomut of Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School (Thunder Bay, ON), Jeannie Hunter of Nepean High School (Ottawa, ON) and
Robert Colbourne of Holy Heart of Mary Regional High School (St. John’s, NL).

The 2025 edition of the JUNO Awards and JUNO Week marks the fifth time the city of Vancouver has played host to the biggest night in Canadian music; and in true Vancouver style, the 54th Annual JUNO Awards broadcast will be hosted by celebrated crooner and hometown hero, Michael Bublé.  Bublé joins Sum 41 as the currently announced performers for the celebrations.  In addition, for those attending JUNO Week events in Vancouver, CARAS has introduced their new JUNO Week app to help locals and visitors alike to plan their path through the festivities.

The 54th Annual JUNO Awards, will broadcast and stream live across Canada from Rogers Arena in Vancouver on March 30th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos and CBC Music’s YouTube page.
