“Homestead Heart” – single release date; Friday, August 16, 2024 – was produced by Toronto engineer/musician Joey Assad, was recorded at The Rehearsal Factory, Toronto, and was mastered by Paul Hodge. Monet Comeau and Christian Hodge perform lead vocals and backing vocals on the song, plus Hodge plays acoustic guitar, bass, and drums, and Joey Assad masterfully plays fiddle.

“‘Homestead Heart’ is a song that stems from our many travels as musicians. We both grew up in rural areas and very often yearn to return and set down roots. However, we are also restless people and the second we settle for more than a moment, we both long to travel. Together, we have lived in Ontario, New Brunswick, and London (UK) and visited many countries across Europe and the Caribbean. We left a piece of our hearts in every one of those places and will always feel pulled in many directions.
We’ve been playing ‘Homestead Heart’ live for about a year and we are so excited to share it on a much broader scale, as it is the most personal piece we’ve written to date. And thanks to the wizardry of engineer Joey Assad, by adding his fiddle playing to the instrumentation, it truly brings the feeling behind the song to life!”
