Award-Winning Pop-Folk Band The East Pointers Announce Canadian Tour Dates
JUNO and ECMA Award-winning folk-pop band, The East Pointers, announce they will be taking their fiddle-forward, indie-folk pop across Ontario and the Atlantic provinces starting this month.
The tour kicks off on August 17th in Peterborough, ON at the Peterborough Folk Festival, and includes stops in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick, then wraps in their home province of Prince Edward Island on December 16 in Charlottetown at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. Tickets are on sale now, and available here.
The band is also thrilled to announce their highly anticipated new EP Safe In Sound will be released via Nettwerk Music Group on November 3, 2023.
“We are hitting the road with mixed emotions this fall, bringing all of our new songs and tunes to you, and with Koad in spirit. It’s our first tour since 2021, and we’re really hoping to see all of you there! Our good buds from Newfoundland, Fortunate Ones (the best), will be with us, so it’s going to be a special run of shows”, said Tim Chaisson.
The East Pointers recently released their latest single “Best Surprise”, a blend of experimental pop and folk with driving hooks and soaring vocals, inviting listeners to dance and reminisce simultaneously.
Jake Charron sums up the track best,
“Our new song “Best Surprise” stemmed from a conversation about the unpredictable nature of being human… How we plan, but we never know what’s just around the corner. As it progressed (we started it in 2021 and finished it a few months ago), the original sadness it was born from was flipped to when someone (or something) amazing lands on your lap when you least expect it”.
On September 1st the band will release another new tune, “We Will Meet Again” featuring JUNO Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated Rose Cousins. With its heartfelt lyrics, this indie-folk tune is tinged with melancholy, yet comforting and features a beautiful juxtaposition of vocals from Cousins and Tim Chaisson.
