Day 2: August 5th, 2023
with Billie Eilish, The National, Sofi Tukker, Lil Yachty, Fletcher, Goth Babe, Cults and Alicia Moffet

We thought Day 1 of OSHEAGA was already super strong, but we were not ready for what the festival had in store for us! We arrived onsite early afternoon to find the main stage already very packed – and we weren’t that surprised when we heard that Billie Eilish fans had started lining up at 4.30am that day!

Early afternoon acts usually perform in front of a slowly growing audience, but this wasn’t the case for hometown sweetheart Alicia Moffet, and NYC band Cults, who got us started with their sweet vibes. Up next, Cali band Goth Babe brought all the cool vibes, including when one of their friends crowd surfed on a massive pool floatie!

Fletcher followed on the Mountain Stage, and the fans showed up as they screamed along to every lyric with her! We then expected things to take a rowdy turn as Lil Yachty took to the stage, but the rapper kept things very mellow. He sat down on a stool, explained he was fighting a cold, and gave a performance that was overall a bit underwhelming. But on the positive side, kudos to him for still showing up, and for having a full backing band to play the tracks!

From there, the party really kicked up at notch as Aussie duo Sofi Tukker took over the stage as they always do, turning the site into one mega dance party! They were followed by The National, with frontman Matt Berninger being as charismatic as ever during this sunset set.

Finally, wunderkid Billie Eilish arrived on stage with a 3-meter jump, in front of a sold-out screaming crowd! The singer brought her usual tour production and pulled out all the stops for this incredible performance! From the slope at the back of the stage all the way to the end of the catwalk, she jumped around non-stop. The 24-track setlist was absolutely flawless, starting with bury a friend, including Barbie soundtrack tune What Was I Made for?, a surprise appearance by Armano White (set to play OSHEAGA today) to sing his track BILLIE EILISH., and ending the show with major hit bad guy and belt-out anthem Happier Than Ever. If our memory of past lineups serves us well, Billie was the youngest artist to ever headline OSHEAGA, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park!
