A no-nonsense song about knowing when to start again.
Eighteen-year-old Liam Hopkins is a Canadian alternative rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A vocalist, drummer, guitarist, bassist, and synthesist, Liam is a hands-on artist who writes, performs, and produces his own material.
His new single, “Start Again,” produced by Chris Diams of Bleeker, marks a hard left turn into heavy-hitting hard rock.
“Start Again” is Liam’s rawest and most fully realized sound to date. The track explores manipulation, disillusionment, and that defining moment when you recognize what’s being done to you—choosing to cast everything aside and start again.
Liam’s dedication to music began early. He attended the Berklee College of Music Aspire Program in Boston at just fifteen years old, and studied at Aden Bowman Collegiate and Evan Hardy Collegiate in Saskatoon, where he focused on music, film, theatre, and other creative pursuits. Inspired by his first concert at age eleven, he had already been playing drums since age four and guitar since age five.
With his debut album set for release later in 2026, LIAM is clearly an artist to watch.
Review
“Start Again” comes in fast, loud, and unapologetic, carrying a strong punk attitude built on raw emotion and zero filter. Liam doesn’t dress anything up—this is frustration laid bare, capturing the chaos of a relationship breaking down in real time.
The lyrics hit sharp and direct, calling out manipulation and emotional distortion without holding back. Lines like “you’re a hedonistic nihilist” land with bite, while “I don’t need this, and I don’t need you” becomes the track’s defining moment—less a hook and more a line in the sand.
By the end, there’s no ambiguity left. What starts in confusion turns into clarity, with Liam choosing himself and walking away. “Start Again” thrives on that turning point, delivering a cathartic, no-nonsense release that feels honest, confrontational, and fully self-assured.
