Afro soul-pop producer and Hamilton Music Award winner, Kojo “Easy” Damptey has unveiled his single, “PARTY aka Clementine”, from his upcoming third album, Radical Thoughts.
Blending afrobeat, soul, and electro-pop, “PARTY aka Clementine,” is about having a good time on the dance floor. It features a fat bass synth, various world percussion, and Kojo’s proposition for a dance. The “If you wanna party with me …” line will be stuck in your head hours after you first listen.
“It’s about connecting with other people from different worlds and respecting one another,” Kojo says.
The production of another Hamilton producer, Onglish, gives the track and the upcoming album an electronic feel, making the record feel truly unique.
“My previous albums were centered around a live band, however, this record is centered around beat making, afro beats, and an electro-sound. As a musician, I feel it’s important to redefine yourself to ensure you are pushing the boundaries creatively and personally,” Kojo says.
