Canadian alt-rocker Matt Graham and Graham Show Music have reached over 95,000+ streams across Spotify, and counting. He has now released his sophomore EP and title video, “Follow Your Dreams”.
“The song ‘Follow Your Dreams’ is an anthem meant to be motivation for anyone who wants or needs it,” Graham offers. “The opening line is ‘every morning you wake up and see nothing but future hope and destiny.’ The chorus is to ‘live the life you never lived, dream the dreams you never dreamt, and never spend the energy on time not well spent.’
What I wanted to offer was the message that you can go after anything you want in life,” he continues. “If you never give up, success will one day come.”
It’s a mindset Matt Graham can personally attest to.
“Follow Your Dreams” isn’t the only track on his EP that uplifts listeners with inspiring messages by way of music. Check out the full EP here, and be sure to check out “Follow Your Dreams” below, along with our Five Questions With segment.
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Matt Graham or otherwise, know as the artist Graham Show. I have been playing guitar now for 24 years. But my first guitar with my paper route money when I was 13. It was a Fender Strat modeling after my idol Jimi Hendrix.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I write using a rhyming dictionary a lot of the time. It helps you say exactly what you want to say and not worry about the rhyming aspect of it. I search for lines and hooks are original and upbeat. You never know when a good line for a song is going to come to you so I keep them in my note pad on my phone and email them to myself.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
I don’t have any upcoming shows currently because of how COVID hit had to cancel them but will have some in the works soon. My performance is normally with a drummer on conga bongo accompaniment or a full drum kit. I do the acoustic guitar. I have yet to get more people involved with the live performance. It is hard to find good talent that can keep perfect timing and play exactly what you have recorded.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I would probably suggest my song Life or the latest Follow Your Dreams. Both well put together.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
I always follow the Trews and have been listening to the Glorious Sons as well.
