Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m a 21-year-old artist from Grimsby, Ontario, and I’ve been playing music since I was 10. My main instrument is the guitar but I do what I can to play all the instruments on my recordings. I have a record coming out March 22nd and my new track “Velvet” is the lead single. I’m currently in my final year at Queen’s University and I plan on focusing strictly on music as soon as I finish my degree.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I write, record, produce and mix all of my music in my student house bedroom. I try to only write when I have something to write about as I feel that’s when I get my best material. I do most of my writing late at night between the hours of 12am-3am. I write almost all of my songs on the guitar first and then write the parts for each other instrument during the recording process. I’ll usually record in 5-6 hour sessions and then mix the track up until the day I send it to be mastered.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
I’m currently focusing on finishing up the record I’m working on so I don’t have any big shows planned in the near future. When I do play live a lot of my set is just me and my electric guitar. I find this gives me freedom when playing live and makes for a more intimate performance. I also use a looper pedal when playing live for tracks such as Velvet.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
My new song “Velvet” is currently my personal favourite.

My current favourite Canadian artists include Daniel Caesar, Charlotte Day Wilson, Mac Demarco, and Bahamas.
