Osheaga 2026 Day 1 Review: Twenty One Pilots Shine

If Day 1 was any indication, Osheaga 2026 is off to a spectacular start. Through blazing heat, suffocating humidity, and surprise downpours, tens of thousands of fans transformed Parc Jean-Drapeau into a sea of rain jackets, sunglasses, and unwavering enthusiasm. The grounds buzzed with energy all day, balancing world-class music with an ever-growing collection of sponsor activations and excellent food vendors. The only downside? A packed venue that made navigating between stages an event in itself.
The music, though, never missed.
A surprise appearance from Wunderhorse provided one of the day’s earliest highlights, delivering a raw, hard-hitting set that immediately grabbed the festival’s attention.
Wolf Alice followed with a commanding performance led by Ellie Rowsell, whose magnetic stage presence and powerful vocals reminded everyone why the band continues to be one of alternative rock’s most compelling live acts.
Wet Leg once again proved they’re one of the most reliable festival bands on the circuit, bringing their signature wit, infectious grooves, and effortless chemistry to another standout performance.
Few crowds matched the one gathered for The Neighbourhood, where every chorus seemed to echo across the island as thousands sang along to favourites like Sweater Weather.
As daylight faded, The xx delivered one of the day’s most immersive performances, their understated brilliance paired with visuals that came alive after sunset, creating an atmosphere that was as cinematic as it was intimate.
Over on another stage, Geese tore through a blistering set for fans willing to skip the headliner, offering one of the festival’s most exhilarating alternative choices.
Still, the night belonged to Twenty One Pilots. Their closing set was a festival spectacle in every sense—towering bursts of pyro, relentless energy, gravity-defying leaps, and a performance that extended far beyond the confines of the stage. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun used every corner of the venue to connect with the audience, turning a massive festival crowd into something that felt surprisingly personal. It was the kind of headline performance that doesn’t just end a day—it defines it.
Day 1 delivered everything festival-goers could ask for: unpredictable weather, unforgettable performances, and the unmistakable feeling that summer’s biggest weekend had only just begun.
