Watch one person play drums and guitar at the same time in Queens & Kings Video for “Earthquake”

The drums and guitar are played by ONE PERSON at ONCE in Toronto-based rock duo Queens & Kings latest single, “Earthquake”!  Usually, Alissa plays drums and  Brendan plays the guitar in this duo (although they sometimes swap), but for this song, Brendan tackles both instruments simultaneously, and it’s quite a show to see it performed live!

Alissa expands

“I wanted a song where I could just go wild, singing up front without playing anything, so we came to this solution, and it worked out beautifully and Brendan mastered playing both instruments at once quite quickly too! And I don’t abandon my kit completely—I still get in some exclamatory crash hits in the choruses and  we join forces on a joint drum solo towards the end. It’s always fun to play it live!”

You can watch how this is done in the new music video filmed in two abandoned locations by the band, one of which has since been demolished, so the band is quite happy to have been able to immortalize it while it was still standing.  The other has been standing since the mid-1800s. The first location was shot by Jesse Read of Dropout Entertainment. The second location was shot by the band themselves. As always, the band edited the video themselves, merging the two locations together seamlessly.

The track is the fifth single released for the band and acts as a sort of blowing of the trumpet to announce their upcoming album release later this summer.
