Hunter Brothers are back with a sweet summer visual for “Peace, Love & Country Music”
On the heels of two 2022 Canadian Country Music Award nominations (for Group or Duo of the Year and Interactive Artist or Group of the Year), the Hunter Brothers have dropped a visual for their celebrated summer anthem “Peace, Love & Country Music.”
The video’s plot (at the direction of Sean Smith) puts the five brothers, who also work as full-time farmers, back in their hometown of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, as they gather friends and fans to celebrate life, love, and country music – all artistically layered with filtering that fits the song’s retro vibes.
“The video for ‘Peace, Love and Country Music’ essentially magnifies the concept of rallying around things we can all come together on,” Ty Hunter, lead singer of Hunter Brothers, told CMT. “It speaks to the essence of community and enjoying life peacefully and lovingly with one another. We are hopeful that people walk away from the video uplifted, and reminded of the simple joys in life. While it’s easy for division to transpire, we can ground ourselves in simple principles that make us all human at the end of the day.”
“Peace, Love & Country Music,” co-written by the brothers with GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and producer Seth Mosley and hit songwriter James McNair (“Lovin’ On You” for Luke Combs), first released in June. Co-produced by Mosley with fellow GRAMMY® Award-winner Mike “X” O’Connor, the tune is currently climbing the Canadian country radio charts.

First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
We are the Hunter Brothers. Often we get asked if we are actual brothers, and the answer is yes! Three forwards and two defensemen (we make up an entire hockey line as we played the game growing up). We are all in the band, all play instruments and sing a whole lot of harmony.
You have unveiled a music video for your latest single, “Peace, Love & Country Music.” What was the highlight of the video shoot?
The highlight of the video shoot for “Peace, Love and Country Music” was definitely getting a lot of members from our local community involved. They have advocated for our music, and we are always pumped when we get to incorporate them into the visuals – or any projects for that matter. Also, coming out of the sky on a piano wasn’t so bad either…
The video features all five of you back home in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan performing, farming, and enjoying the community. What is the best thing about the music community in your hometown?
One of our favourite things about being from a small town is the sense of community. When someone has a medical need, the town rallies together for a steak supper to raise funds. If people need a tow in the ditch, there are many hands you can call on speed dial. The music community itself is still developing, and we are always hopeful to help continue growing it, so there are more avenues for playing. Many members care a tremendous amount about it, and it’s always fun to fuel new opportunities.
You worked with Sean Smith on the video. how was that experience?
Sean has always been amazing to work with. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and loves to collaborate. He works hard and always brings a positive spirit and energy to the set. He’s personable, and we now have this routine where our mom makes cinnamon buns when she knows he’s coming so that he can be part of the family tradition. Another thing about Sean…He once successfully captured four FULL videos in one day with us. If that doesn’t scribe out his work ethic, I don’t know what does. Oftentimes, an act is lucky to get one done in a day.
I must know, the pig in the video, is it your pig? If so, what’s its name?
The pig…oh yes, the pig…she was a gift to our parents during COVID. And she has quickly made her way into everyone’s hearts. Her name is Tulip Rose Hunter (yes, she has a middle name), and she has made quite a few appearances in our videos (for reference, check out our video “Land Shanty” on YouTube). The other thing about her…she has almost a perfect sense of time. Speaking of beats, she will wag her tail to the exact beat the music is playing at. Slow it down, her tail goes slower, speed it up, and it will continue to match. It’s an actual metronome. You can expect to see more of her in the future. Meet her once, and you’ll know immediately why she will never become bacon.
