Ollee Owens shares a music video for “Raging Fire”
Canadian artist Ollee Owens has unveiled her brand new single, “Raging Fire,” which lends an important warning. Reflecting on her grandma’s influence, Owens shares,
“She used to say that our tongues have the power to burn folks to the ground…it is so important to watch what we say or we may find ourselves helplessly standing by as the consequences of thoughtless words take full effect.”
Out of harsh lessons learned through personal experience, Owens calls listeners to be mindful of what “cannot be unheard.”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
I am Ollee Owens… a daughter of the Canadian prairies. I am a singer-songwriter with a desire to capture the human experience in a soulful, honest way.
Tell us a bit about your most recent release.
My new single “Raging Fire” was inspired by one of many conversations I had with my Grandmother, who helped raise me and has remained a constant source of wisdom over the years. Her advice really stood out to me as I watched what was happening in the world, especially in the past while. Words are powerful. They can build up, and they can tear down. This is a tough lesson to learn, and I am speaking from experience.
The woman in the video is my Grandmother, whom I speak about in the song. We barely managed to get in and shoot the video due to Covid lockdowns, and I am grateful we did because her health has recently taken a turn for the worse. I feel as though this song immortalizes a small part of all that she is, and we can all stand to benefit from her sage advice.
Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?
I want to write songs that reflect shared experiences and to do this with honesty. I also want to give room for the highest ideals to influence what I write and to wrestle with reality while doing so.
Do you have any upcoming shows or festivals you’d like to tell us about?
I will be kicking off the fall with my upcoming album release show, and from there, I have booked various events going into 2023.
What’s your goal for 2022?
There is a new album on the way that I am working on. It will be released on September 16th, 2022, so stay tuned!
