ZACH’S PICKS OF THE WEEK – APRIL 15 TO APRIL 20, 2024

Zach Coopz Makes His Weekly Return With More Music To Share

Who is ready for some brand new music because this website is overflowing with the best music around? Welcome to Canadian Beats and our featured article Zach’s Picks of The Week, in which Zach likes to highlight articles that have been posted. A bit of a showcase of what you might’ve missed from this last week, but there’s always plenty more coming out every day. Just go ahead and visit any of our links to our social platforms or the main website. But like I said, these are hand-picked by yours truly, because I enjoyed listening to them this week. So I thought I would share them with you the listeners and fans of the show. Then hopefully you’ll share them with your friends family and fans as well.  There’s gonna be a clip from each of my recommendations coming up in this week’s video, that will be posted below this. But I really encourage you to check out the link to each of the original articles that are still posted in this article. So what do you say we get right into the brand new music, these are gonna be the best from all around coming up on Zach’s Picks of the Week.

Five

Starting off our wonderful list of the music will be in Montreal-based songwriter, Matt Holubowski and his surprising new EP. It’s called somewhere, someone and you can find it now across all streaming platforms. Following up after the release of his full-length album last year, it’s definitely fitting for the seasonal time of the year. Out of the three songs on the EP, my favourite was “Control, the Idle Youth, and the Repose” and you can hear it along with the others within our article that is linked right here.

Four

This next one you might have heard of, it’s multi-PLATINUM entertainer Dean Brody joining forces with the Juno-award-winning group, James Barker Band. Quite the unexpected, tongue-in-cheek new single from the pair of legendary country entertainers, it’s called “Your Mama Would Hate Me”. Available of course across any of your favourite streaming platforms, so be sure to add it to your favourite playlist. It’s an anthem for everyone who unapologetically accepts themselves, understanding that the good and the bad are what makes them who they are. Go on and have a listen here.

Three

Next up, we have the debut EP from Toronto indie artist, Warburton. It’s called Sad Songs for Happy People and is available now across all streaming platforms. It features five tracks that capture the band’s unique blend of moody, melodic indie-folk sounds. Including the singles like “I Didn’t Know”, “Make It Better” and my personal favourite, “Thirty One” which is featured in this week’s video. After having some very positive success with the premieres of their singles and their debut EP, they have to let loose on the live stage where they shine best. If you wanna learn more, you should go check out our Five Questions With segment with Warburton here.

Two

Coming in at number two this week will be rising country singer-songwriter, Owen Riegling. He hails from Mildmay, Ontario, and dropped his new single “Bud Light The Way” on all streaming platforms via Universal Music Canada. This song is an upbeat tune featuring playful lyrics and a toe-tapping rhythm. It’s accompanied by a lively lyric video which you can find in our article here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

We are here now to introduce you to this week’s international artist, who was featured in our Canadian Beats Passport article. This week we have R&B/pop sensation Vincent Darby from Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He’s just released his new EP, FOR WHEN IT’S OVER all across the streaming service universe. The lead single following the release is an up-tempo track called “Rogue”, featuring a video captivating the feeling and vibe blasting your music in the car on a late-night drive through the city. Be sure to go and learn more in our questionnaire interview with Vincent Darby which is linked right here.

One

Then we reached my number one recommendation this week, from the website that brings you the best new music. So let me introduce you to Toronto’s leading purveyors of trash pop and garage rock, Mad Ones. They just recently dropped their highly anticipated new vinyl LP What It Takes through Fortune Stellar Records. This will mark the band’s fifth studio album and is available now on all streaming sites as well. Featuring 10 infectious, high-energy tracks, full of catchy hooks and straight-to-the-chorus melodies. It was recorded live to give off a very special and authentic representation of the band’s performance skills. Be sure to listen to the whole album in our article, here.

Thank you for checking them out, those were Zach’s Picks of the Week. Supporting all the new music as always it’s Canadian Beats, so you know for next time where to go.
