Fast Rising R&B/Pop Sensation Vincent Darby Releases New EP FOR WHEN IT’S OVER

R&B/pop sensation Vincent Darby has released his new EP FOR WHEN IT’S OVER after recently gracing stages and creating considerable industry buzz at SXSW, NYC, and at School Night (LA).

The six-song EP follows the release of his uptempo single “Rogue” where Vincent paints a picture of the irresistible allure of forbidden love. The video for “Rogue” captures the feeling and vibe of blasting music in your car on a late-night drive through the city.

While “Rogue” embodies Vincent’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of R&B and Pop, it also serves as the lead track off his new EP.

“I started the process back in 2016 and I called the EP FOR WHEN IT’S OVER to document what love/lust feels like within this generation of quick attention spans and dating apps,” says the British crooner of Jamaican descent with strong Canadian ties. “In a world of instant gratification, genuine fulfillment in love doesn’t really exist.”

The EP encapsulates these sentiments in under 20 minutes, reflecting on intense yet short-lived relationships, now normalized in our society.

FOR WHEN IT’S OVER is being released by 7 Long Lane Entertainment, an independent label dedicated to nurturing emerging talent in the music industry.

First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Vincent Darby and I’m a singer-songwriter from Birmingham UK.

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

My EP “For When It’s Over” is my outlook on infatuation in the modern world. I say infatuation because I don’t think I describe love and the challenges of love on the ep. I think more so it’s the honeymoon phase of love that weaves people together, but because it’s under 20 minutes I wanted to showcase how quickly those feelings exist.

How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?

For different songs, the process is different. Some of the songs on the EP were the first songs I EVER wrote way back in 2016 where my process was guitar and a notepad. The song that was done this way was comedown. Where as “Rogue” was written over a beat with my writing partners on FaceTime. Now, the majority of the music is written with my partners, this consists of Tony Ni who resides in New Hampshire, and Ama Julice who resides in Manitoba CA and I live in the UK so we join for our FaceTime calls surrounded by iPhones ready to record every moment that we create.

Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?

I have just finished my North American tour which consisted of 4 cities which was NYC, LA, Austin Texas, and Toronto Canada. I loved performing at these shows because I love to put a show on for people. In the same realm of shows, I am a very visual kinda guy. And I love it when music is complemented with art/ visuals so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled on the YouTube as the visuals unfold.

Looking back on your musical career thus far, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?

There’s been a few moments in my career that have been long-lasting moments but I think one of the most memorable moments for me was when I was 9 and supported Flo-Rida in the UK. But other than that, I’ve had so many moments that are also of significance for example. In New York in 2019 when I noticed a complete stranger singing the words to my music and that’s been a moment that’s always stood out to me.

Last but not least, it’s time to pay it forward, what upcoming band or artist would you recommend your fans check out?

Me, tf. But I also love a Toronto-based artist called Avery she is insanely talented woman with the voice of an angel and the production team of gold.
