GreenWing – Eatin’ It (Album Review)

Band: GreenWing
Album: Eatin’ It
Release Date: March 15, 2024
Genre: Alternative

Established in 2021, Saskatchewan’s GreenWing has made a name for themselves with an onslaught of Canadian tour dates featuring their signature singalong hooks, infectious driving rhythms, and chaotic stage presence.

The band has unveiled their sophomore album, Eatin’ It, which follows their 2022 debut, Late Bloomer.

The album starts with the previous single, “At The Time,” which possesses a captivating allure that deeply resonates with listeners, inviting them to immerse themselves in a journey of profound self-reflection and introspection.

“Little Regret” grabs your attention with its vivid imagery and captivating storytelling. It paints a picture of carefree youth, where living in the moment feels thrilling and unrestrained. As the song progresses, it explores the protagonist’s mindset, vividly portraying the feeling of being twenty and unstoppable.

The title track, ‘Eatin’ It,’ is a raw and honest portrayal of frustration and self-reflection. It’s a testament to the profound impact music can have in transforming emotions. Through its sincere lyrics, captivating instrumentation, and intense emotional delivery, the song offers a deeply relatable exploration of human feelings and relationships.

Closing the album, “Enough” blasts onto the punk rock scene with an unapologetic attitude and raw intensity. It’s easy to see why “Enough” was chosen as a single, with anthemic vocals and relentless instrumentals, “Enough” is a high-energy track for those fed up with the monotony of routine and societal expectations.

Overall, Eatin’ It offers a compelling journey through the highs and lows of life, presented in a collection of introspective and emotionally charged tracks. With its diverse yet cohesive collection of tracks, this album resonates as a compelling reflection on life’s journey, leaving a lasting impression on listeners long after the final notes fade away.
