GreenWing – “Enough” (Single Review)

GreenWing unveils “Enough”, the second single off their upcoming sophomore album Eatin’ It

Saskatchewan’s GreenWing follows up their previous single, “At The Time,” with “Enough,” the second single to be released from their upcoming album, Eatin’ It, set to release on March 17, 2024.

“Enough” is a song that tackles the inherent uncertainty that comes hand in hand with a sophomore release and the feelings of fear and insecurity that come when deviating away from a path that has proven successful in the past.

While musing on feelings of uncertainty and fear, Singer Matt Stinn’s lyrics are framed by ambient verses full of tension provided by drummer Kolt Kimbley and Bassist Travis Williams. As tension builds, the verses rise and give way to a chorus accentuated by the one-two punch of hammering guitars provided by Stinn and lead guitarist Anthony Allegretto. “But trust, I haven’t given up on you” echoes in a sense of triumph from the band as the song turns full circle on its verses that were painted in self-doubt to accept the fact that staying the course isn’t also the best option.

Review

GreenWing’s “Enough” blasts onto the punk rock scene with an unapologetic attitude and raw intensity. The track wastes no time diving into the frustrations and disillusionments of modern life, delivering a punchy narrative that resonates with the rebellious spirit of punk.

With anthemic vocals and relentless instrumentals, “Enough” is a high-energy track for those fed up with the monotony of routine and societal expectations. Despite the turmoil, the track carries a message of resilience, as the protagonist refuses to give in to despair, holding onto hope for brighter days.

Overall, “Enough” is more than just a punk rock anthem; it’s a rallying cry for those who refuse to be silenced by adversity.
