Happy new year everybody and welcome back for the new music that will start off our next 365 days of new. As always, this is Canadian Beats, and the place you were going to find in my opinion, the best music on the Internet! However, this is our featured article that comes out practically every week. Where I list off my top six articles that have been featured on this more than Music website. They are called Zach’s Picks Of The Week and I thank you for joining us once again. Each of the articles will be linked down below in this post, but I will also give you a clip from each in the video that is coming up. But you are more than welcome to take none of my words and go and explore the rest of the website for yourself. Because I’m not sure that you were going to find something you’ll enjoy this week. You’re on our website. So, without further review, let’s get right into the music that we have for you this week.

Five

Kicking off our list this week we have a Vancouver-based folk, singer/songwriter, and musician, Amy van Keeken unveiling her EP. Wave At Me is available across all streaming sites now, but even though the pandemic posed challenges for everyone’s artistic creativity. Amy persevered through those challenges and created this beautiful record. You can go check out the rest of the Wave At Me EP by Amy Van Keeken, within our article here.

Four

Moving along down our list is going to be our first music video this week. So allow me to introduce to you Ontario hip-hop legend, Peter Jackson, joining forces with R&B sensation JRDN on the track “Like Father, Like Son”. This emotionally charged single continues to capture audiences, worldwide, and now with its accompanying music video adds a whole new depth to the song. Shot within the iconic Peterborough Memorial Arena, showcasing Jackson and his son, enjoying some scrimmage on the ice. Check out the full video within the article, here.

Three

This will be our first Five Questions With segment on this week’s list and it highlights none other than Calgary-based singer/songwriter, Kenny Jeon. His latest EP, It Would Be Nice To Fall In Love, was released on December 18 and can be found across all your favourite streaming sites now. Check out the Five Questions With segment here.

Two

Coming up next on the list of new music will be the incredible Carla Muller, a singer-songwriter from Woolwich, Ontario. She is spreading the love to her listeners and community members alike with her new single “I Can Hear The Bells.” It can be listened to anywhere music is available, with 100% of the proceeds from both digital downloads and single on CD will benefit the food bank of the Waterloo region. So with that being said, I encourage you to go check out the article and stream the new single “I Can Hear The Bells” by Carla Muller here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

Now it’s time for our bonus and international recommendation of the week, brought to you of course by Canadian Beats Passport. This time we are featuring Belgian Indie-popper, Heyoka and his most recent EP, Mercure. That is already available across all streaming platforms, but we will also be highlighting his single, “Forward”. A hypnotically persuasive anthem that combines old-school symphonics with modern martial beats, the new single challenges us listeners to move beyond our bad mental habits. Check out the Passport featured article here.

One

This is my final recommendation for Zach’s Picks Of The Week and it will take us to Winnipeg’s very own, Tyler Del Pino. Who has a pure passion for songwriting and an honest sound infused, into a hybrid of rock pop, Americana, and East Coast folk-rock that stays true to the roots of timeless tunes. Backed by his new band The Brasstronautz, his latest EP Out of a Clear Blue Sky is available now and will leave listeners with heads and hearts full of optimism. Be sure to go and check out our Five Questions With segment with Tyler Del Pino, and listen to the EP, here.

I hope you enjoyed my recommendations this week that are provided by the website with nothing but the best music around. There’s still more to explore across this side of ours, so be sure to share with your friends what you found this week on Zach’s Picks Of The Week. Then be sure to bring them back with you next time, when we explore our next installment, which will be coming out next week. Though our year is just beginning, I hope you continue to spread love and positivity to everybody. With the music you find here or in the way you present yourself day-to-day. These have been Zach’s Picks Of The Week, thanks for checking that out and I’d just like to say, PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD MUSIC EVERYONE!
