Zach's Picks Of The Week

Zach Picks His Top Five Canadian Music Picks & One Passport Pick For The Week

I decided to go out in nature this weekend and see if I can make friends with big foot. But also we’ve got some brand new music to talk about from all over the world. It’s Music Mondays on Canadian Beats Media so that means it’s time for Zach’s Picks Of The Week! I’m your host, Zach Coopz and I hope you’re all having an amazing day so far. We are here with my top six recommendations from all around. You will see a clip from each of them in my video below, but the articles are linked in this post. So please explore everything because it’s really good music and I wouldn’t mislead you. So come along and let’s check out Zach’s Picks Of The Week!

Five

We begin the list with Toronto’s punk rock stalwarts, Random Killing. They are in their 30th year of slaying punk rock audiences all over Canada and have recently released their album, Bring Out Your Dead. You can find it across all streaming platforms via Cursed Blessings Records right now. Check out our Five Questions With segment to learn more about the band here.

Four

Making our way into the next one, it’s another Five Questions With segment, this time with 2023 SCMA Emerging Artist Of The Year, Adam Johnson. He gets over a breakup the only way he knows how, by hanging out with his best friends. His latest single is called “Drinking With The Boys” and was co-written by CCMA award-winning producer Bart Mckay to create his best song to date. Have a listen to the new single in our Five Questions With segment with Adam Johnson here.

Three

Now onto my top three for this week, Edmonton-based pop-punk/post-hardcore band Calling All Captains has a new single out now. “Unlike Me” deals with the overwhelming thoughts of feeling like you’re not good enough for those around you. Now available across all platforms and you can see the new video in our Five Questions With segment here.

Two

Making it into second place this week, Waterloo-based rockers Sierra Pilot released a single and music video for “The Thief”. The second single off of their upcoming album, Phantom Pains which will be released on September 15th. Its release comes just ahead of three Ontario tour dates with Buckcherry in July and a twelve-date Western Canadian tour with Skid Row and Buckcherry in October. You can see a few of the dates in our article with the new video for “The Thief” here.

Bonus: Canadian Beats Passport

This week’s international artist that will be featured in our Canadian Beats passport. One of Canada’s favourite metal imports, Steel Panther is coming on the road again through Canada in support of their latest album. On The Prowl is available everywhere music is found, but they’re not doing the all too familiar ‘one and done’ Canadian stop in Toronto. They’ll be stopping in almost every province, going from coast to coast starting in Nova Scotia in early September and wrapping up the month-long Canadian leg in British Columbia on September 28th. So wherever you are, get ready for the show of your life. See the dates for this tour in our article here.

One

For my last recommendation for this week’s list. Halifax-based group LIKE A MOTORCYCLE is a unique musical experience. Their new single to be released is called, “I Think I Like It?” and talks about soft-hearted people refusing to take on more damage from the onslaught of this hard, unrelenting world. The track was recorded with Tim Jim Baker and produced by Like A Motorcycle. You should listen to “I Think I Like It?” in our article here.

Those are all the fantastic recommendations I could get for you music fans. Thank you for checking out and choosing Zach’s Picks Of The Week for your music recommendations. You can now go explore our website, become only the finest music from around is featured here. But I’ll be back next Monday with more new music! As long as big foot didn’t eat me, but I think I’ll make it out. So until next time, spread the love and positivity in the world. I’ve been your host Zach Coopz, Peace, Love, and Good Music Everyone!!
