Fairmount Theater, Montreal QC

Last night, Lights brought the last date of her PEP Canada Tour to a sold-out Fairmount!

The venue was already packed and buzzing when Canada’s Drag Race Queen Tynomi Banks strutted on stage to open the night. It’s unusual to see drag performers open for musicians, but we absolutely loved that choice! Miss Tynomi brought the house down, and ended her set on a high note as the crowd sang along to Miley Cyrus’ Flowers with her.

Shortly after 9pm, Lights and her band arrived on stage to a thunder of applause. While the Ontario singer seemingly played larger venues in other cities and could’ve most likely sold out a bigger venue here (like Corona Theater), the 600-people capacity of Fairmount lent itself for an extremely intimate show, with everyone in close proximity to the stage. Lights still brought a great set up of background screen and colorful lights (pun intended), making the high-level production fit on the tiny stage! Just like when we caught the second date of her tour in Vancouver earlier this month, her performance was flawless and high in energy! Light’s last headlining show in Montreal dated from 2014 but given how incredible last night’s show was, we sure hope we won’t have to wait another 8 years to see her again!!
