Malcom. – Five Questions With

Malcom

Malcom. shares his latest single, “Closure”

Alternative artist Malcolm. is back with his first single of the new year, as he brings a catchy melody and addictive hook to “Closure.” The song will bring listeners into the new year with a relatable story of young love and how it doesn’t always end the way we want it to. It comes out January 5th, 2023, and will be the first single off his upcoming EP, I Think I’m okay, coming in 2023.

Malcom. shares,

“‘Closure’ is a song about overthinking what went wrong in a relationship without ever getting a proper reason why.”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Malcolm., I’m an independent recording artist and multi-instrumentalist based in Calgary, Alberta.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

My new song, “Closure,” was written when I was looking back at an old relationship and still not knowing how things ended the way they did. At the same time, I wanted it to be super fun and upbeat to listen to. I really like that type of juxtaposition.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

Inspiration always comes from different places, but when it’s relationships, I usually write about it when it’s fading, or I’ve already gotten over it. For the more musical aspects, I usually have something I want to achieve with every song. With “Closure,” I wanted to make something depressing feel fun.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

I have no shows planned at the moment, but I definitely wouldn’t mind getting started again.

What’s your goal for 2023?

For 2023 I want to make music my full-time job. I have a lot of releases planned, including the ep “Closure,” which will be on called I think I’m ok. I can’t wait to see where the year takes me.
