Hi Maggie! Please introduce yourself to our readers!
What’s up! I’m Maggie! Nice to meet ya:)
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
I’m a singer/songwriter. I love writing pop/electronic songs, and like to think I had a bit of ‘soul’ to my sound. I grew up in a small town called Dundas in Ontario.
How have you been keeping creative during the Pandemic?
I’ve been doing a lot of zoom sessions and writing solo as well. Luckily I have a recording set-up at home so I’ve been able to collaborate with different producers all around the world and send them my vocals! 🙂 It’s actually forced me to get better at recording myself, and I’ve also dabbled in producing some of my own songs.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
I would suggest ‘Choose Me’ because it’s a song about self-love and living your best life, and that’s a vibe we all need to hear right now after last year.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
First of all, I just love that Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music. There are SO many amazing and talented Canadian artists and I love that you’re shining a light on them. Lilianna Wilde is a pop artist and I actually know her! I love her stuff a lot because it’s super vibey pop/electronic music. Sarcastic Sounds is definitely my newest fave artist at the moment too. Growing up my mom always used to play KD Lang and she was an artist that really influenced me while I was learning about who I was as a songwriter.
