Toronto, ON’s singer-songwriter, Dawson Gamble has released his latest single, a blues-influenced pop ballad, “I Don’t Care”.
Dawson’s passion for music began early in life. His father’s love of Blues and Classic Rock integrated with the growing culture of Hip Hop and RnB intensified his interest in music. By picking up his dad’s 1979 Fender Strat guitar, he found his own love of soft Blues and Ballad rock. His love for guitar playing and instrumentation led him to explore songwriting where he further discovered his passion for musicality and zest of flowing lyrics.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Dawson Gamble. I am a Toronto-born innovative singer-songwriter, guitar player, and straight-up music lover.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
My writing style is very unique, I would say. Not all of my songs come to fruition in the same way; I am always trying new writing techniques and different approaches, while still maintaining my core beliefs and values throughout the writing process. I believe my music is able to tell a story or paint a picture in your head that’s easy to connect with and listen to. The upcoming songs really showcase my voice, guitar playing, and overall musicianship.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
I recently performed a live set for 96.9 FM Radio Humber, available to watch now on their YouTube. You can get an idea of my live performance on my own YouTube channel too, where I have been sharing live videos for all of my released music. As well, I always post Instagram stories of me singing, so check it out there too!
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
If I were to suggest only one, I recommend “Get Myself Over You” as it is a fun, upbeat tune that has a strong message and a good vibe. I think it highlights my vocal talents and my songwriting abilities. I also just had so much fun recording it and always enjoy playing that one.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/artists?
Lately, I’ve been loving the new tunes coming from Arkells, Jessie Reyez, Neon Dreams, Renforshort, and The Free Label. Of course, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Drake are always in my Top 5. There are too many insanely talented Canadian artists to account for, but these are definitely some of my favourites.
