Who: The Beaches, Goodbye Honolulu, Fade Awaays
Where: Corona Theater, Montreal QC
When: February 20th, 2020
Last night, indie rock fans gathered at the Corona Theater for Montreal’s stop of The Professional Tour, welcoming back to town the fierce all-girl rock band The Beaches! The evening started with a set by Toronto indie rockers Fade Awaays. From their youthful energy to their “sharing is caring” approach (all members become at some point the lead singer), the foursome did a nice job of warming up the crowd and getting things started on a freezing evening!
Up next, Goodbye Honolulu brought refined sounds of 90s slacker rock, giving an eclectic and fun performance before the main act!
Shortly after 9pm, the lights went down as Jordan, Kylie, Leandra and Eliza walked on stage to the sounds of Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8er Boi”. Dressed in a gown, a sequined mini-dress and a white power-romper, The Beaches rocked the crowd from the intro notes of “Snake Tongue” all the way to the end of “You Don’t Owe Me Anything”. Throughout their set, the Toronto rockers showed taught a lesson of how to be a badass glam rockstar, with a performance that packed a punch and left everyone impatiently waiting for the next time they come back in town!
