Successful bassist Taylor Cos, who comes from Newmarket Ontario, brings her recognizable style of post-punk indie rock to the masses through her new album Bad Dreams under her new Moniker, Viola Swamp. With help from her friends in the Toronto band Bike Theifs and the classically trained violinist Natalie Wong, Viola Swamp was able to bring her vision to life.
“Charming” shows the song-writing influence artists such as Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, and Jack White has imprinted on Taylor Vos when she started on her musical journey.
“Terrified” is the latest single from Bad Dreams, and it does is such an eerie beautiful piece that gives you the tingling down your spine while keeping you interested to check out the rest of the album.
Another stand-out on the album is the heavy punk bass lick-driven song, “Viola Goes Suring In The Swamp”, which is a story about getting the courage to walk up to her crush and say “Hi” by any means necessary.
With the many years of performing, recording, and writing alongside the likes of Bike Thiefs, Anti-Queens, and Hysterics, this new venture for Taylor Cos will be proven a successful piece of work that will stand the test of time and bring along new fans for the adventure.
