Toronto, ON-based artist, Locklyn has unveiled her new single, “90’s Love” which follows her previous singles, “I Don’t Wanna” and “Runaway”.
The ’90s may have been known for many things, including butterfly hair clips, flannel shirts, and baggy jeans, but beyond that, the music in that decade was incredibly varied, giving fans plenty of options for their Walkman or tape deck.
Locklyn shares,
“90’s Love” is asking her partner for a natural and easy love like in the 90”s. The song illustrates everything she has to offer to her partner and is asking that he returns the same. She knows that the love will work, that they need to give it a try and fix what does not work along the way”

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi everyone, I am pleased to introduce myself, Locklyn. I am a young, aspiring music artist from Toronto, Ontario. Music is my passion and my enthusiasm for writing and performing comes from my dedication and love for music and the arts. I am so excited for everyone to hear my new single 90’s LOVE and upcoming EP.
Tell us a bit about your music and writing style.
Music is my heart. I have been involved in the arts and singing since I can remember. I have always wanted my listeners to hear and feel what I feel as it is part of where my passion comes from. I pour my true feelings and dreams into my lyrics and voice. Some of my songs come from my own personal life experiences especially when I collab with another artist as I did with 90’s Love.
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who has yet to see you live, how would you explain your live performance?
Due to COVID, there is limited availability for shows but in the past, my live performances were raw and real including interaction with my audience which I love the most. It is not just about writing and recording but performing live for an audience for them to see me and the passion I have for music.
If you were asked to suggest only one of your songs for someone to hear, which would it be?
This is a hard one for me as this new collection of work is so different from my last EP. A lot has happened in the last year and I had to share it with everyone. Of course, I would recommend listening to 90’s Love, but there are so many more that are not released that you will enjoy as well and to follow my journey.
Canadian Beats is all about Canadian music, so who are your current favourite Canadian bands/ artists?
So hard to pick as there are so many talented Canadians. I look at our artists and where they came from including the challenges they faced and the focused drive they had to succeed in the music industry… When it comes down to it, I have a wide range of music tastes but currently, I have been channeling into drake and the weekend a lot lately, but who wouldn’t they are fantastic.
