Toronto, Ontario alt pop-inspired singer/songwriter/composer Adaline returns with the hauntingly beautiful “Ghost”; a heart-breaking power ballad that speaks to the pain of separation from a revelatory love.
“Ghost’ is about not being able to move on or enjoy new connections because the ghost of someone still lingers,” shares Adaline.
One of her most honest offerings to date, “Ghost” will appear on Adaline’s anticipated forthcoming EP, dear illusion, due out in April 2020. Produced by Maximilian Jaeger (Diplo, Big Sean), the song was written during their very first meeting in-studio and resulted in the duo partnering on dear illusion. “Ghost” follows the sultry and evocative single “Waist Down” and the stunning bright torch-pop track “Part Of You”.
dear illusion, the fourth release from the captivating songstress, is a collection of music inspired by the Californian landscape, where Adaline has resided the past 3 years. Largely produced by Maximilian Jaeger, there is a noted shift from the moody sound one would normally expect from Adaline. Breezy pop hooks are infused with stories of disillusionment, addiction and a journey into a revelatory love. Darker themes explore the push and pull of the illusions we create paired with a sonic lightness that is ethereal and bright.
