We kicked off last night the 14th edition of M for Montreal, a 4-night event aiming to showcase artists from the up-and-coming Canadian scene!
As per usual, the first night took place at Sala Rossa, with a showcase that sent strong vibes of girl-power. BC hip-hop artist Prado was first to hit the stage, dazzling the crowd with her voice and bubbly attitude.
Up next, local rapper Naya Ali came to slay the stage. Coming from Montreal’s NDG neighbourhood, she has been on a skyrocketing journey that includes a set at this year’s Osheaga. Last night was no different, as Naya dominated the stage dressed in all black, hiding under a baseball cap as to draw the attention of the crowd away from her face and towards her quick and cut-throat verses.
Finally, things took a turn from hip hop to pop with Montreal’s Lydia Képinski. Drowning the venue in smoke, Lydia turned La Sala Rossa into her own rave party, charming the crowd with her piercing voice and sensual dance moves.
