Montreal rap fans were in for a treat last night, with Detroit rapper Danny Brown stopping in town as part of a tour presenting his latest album, uknowhatimsayin¿. After a short opening set by Bruiser Brigade member Zeloopers, up-and-coming hip-hop powerhouse Ashnikko took to the stage, entertaining the crowd with her manga-meets-halloween looks, unapologetic attitude and cut-throat beats.
Around 9pm, Danny Brown erupted on stage under a thunder of screams. While his look is more clean-cut than what we originally knew him for, the rest of his set didn’t change as he performed hit after hit, gracing the crowd with his overflowing energy and undeniable charisma.
