Toronto, ON-based jangle rockers Jiants have unveiled the video for their single, “High Desire”.
“High Desire” features a black and white a re-edit of the 1922 film Metropolis. The darker nature of the video fits with the emotional presence of the song, which was penned by lead singer/guitarist Jesse Landen in the pre-dawn hours. Propelled by a more haunting approach to Jiants’ feel-good songwriting, Landen said the video is “supposed to represent feelings of urgency and wanting to help others while being trapped in your own haunted house.”
To bring Landen’s vision of “High Desire” to life, the band enlisted Toronto-based producer Gavin Gardiner. Working with Gardiner allowed Jiants to be presented as they’ve always wanted to be: polished, but invigorated.
“He did an amazing job of capturing the energy of the band which has been hard to accomplish on our previous recordings,” said Landen. Jiants looked to Gardiner for direction on gear, and benefitted from having access to Gardiner’s wide array of equipment in his All Day Coconut studio.
The band will celebrate the release of “High Desire” at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto on November 14. Get more info HERE.
