Canadian Beats Passport – Show Review – Robyn in Toronto, ON

Who: Robyn
When: March 14, 2019
Where: REBEL, Toronto ON

No one was left dancing on their own Thursday night at REBEL because Robyn had the entire room on their feet! Lucky for us, Robyn’s last stop on the Honey Tour was in Toronto, and she gave us her all. From the set design to the dancing, all the way down to the set list, the Honey Tour was more than Robyn fans could have imagined.

Being her first solo album in eight years, Honey grabbed the attention of fans with its new experimental twist. Honey is unlike any other music Robyn has released; this album shows a new softer side of the Swedish artist and we love it.

The feeling you get while listening to Honey is exactly what was portrayed on stage, full of soft white curtains and a giant structure of intertwined hands. She opened the show with the title track ‘Honey’, emerging as a silhouette through a thick cloud of haze.

Robyn was able to control the crowds every emotion, from having the crowd singing ‘Dancing On My Own’ acapella to raving to the techno-style remix of ‘Don’t F*cking Tell Me What To Do’.

Needless to say, Robyn ended the Honey Tour with a bang playing a full 19-song set for a sold out Rebel—packed to the brim with hardcore fans coming for an amazing performance and leaving completely satisfied.
