Who: The Cat Empire
When: March 7, 2019
Where: Danforth Music Hall, Toronto ON
On a chilly Thursday Night in Toronto, The Cat Empire heated things up at the Danforth Music Hall. It was -13 outside and +30 inside, and I felt like I was on vacation for 2 hours as they played.
From Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, The Cat Empire were originally known as Jazz Cat. Then in 1999 they took Felix Riebl’s younger brothers drawing of their iconic cat-eye logo (Pablo) and created The Cat Empire. They’ve been an international sensation all across the world mixing Jazz, rock, ska, funk, and a big brass sound.
I literally did not stop dancing the whole night. They took us all across the globe, with memorable tunes, positive lyrics, and an incredible energy.
